Corridor Series Exhibition at the SCA

Event Dates: 08/25/2016 through 10/07/2016

Jillian Dickson

Corridor Series: Jillian Dickson

Just as Wild
August 25 - October 7
Opening Reception August 25, 5:30PM - 7:30PM, Free

To be wild is to be untamed, disorderly, uncivilized and unrestrained. In this modern world, is the human body apart of wild nature?

Jillian's pregnancy and delivery of her child was highly transformative in how she understands her body's relationship to the natural world. This body of drawings examines the seemingly forgotten and neglected connection between our tactile bodies and wild nature. These drawn objects attempt to both recognize the inevitable connection between nature and the human body, as well as identify their awkward and alien-like relationship reflective of our current time.

Have an interactive experience with marionette puppets, pulley systems, and narrative quilts to name just a few!

Bringing together the community as area students will create numerous, (like a gazillion) the age fiber arts toy, a sock monkey! Trees will be yarn bombed by area makers and the gallery will never be the same!
